Turnouts Release Replacement Water

As replacement water is ordered, it is directed to the many Spreading Grounds operated and maintained by the Los Angeles County Flood Control through turnouts in the SGVMWD system. These are maintained on a routine basis to ensure optimum function.

The Devil Canyon-Azusa Pipeline
The Devil Canyon-Azusa Pipeline
The Devil Canyon-Azusa pipeline was constructed in 1969 to deliver water from the State Water Project to the Main San Gabriel Basin. The pipeline is about 37 miles long and runs west from the Devil Canyon Metering Facility in the San Bernardino Mountains to San Gabriel Canyon Spreading Grounds in Azusa. The pipleline has three pressure reducing stations in Glendora, La Verne, and Fontana. SGVMWD's hydroelectric power plant in San Dimas is also located along the pipeline. The red line along the map represents the pipeline.
