WATERMASTER
The San Gabriel Valley Municipal Water District is proud to be a part of the Main San Gabriel Basin Watermaster. The Main San Gabriel Basin Watermaster was created in 1973 by the California Superior Court of Los Angeles County to create a basin-wide governing body for management of water resources.
The Watermaster has a nine-person board of directors and our Water District appoints one director to serve on the Watermaster board every year. The Watermaster is responsible for managing and controlling the withdrawal and replenishment of water supplies in the Basin. Water producers in the Basin must contact the Watermaster for approval for activities, such as constructing a new well or spreading water in the Basin. For more information, visit www.watermaster.org or call (626) 815-1300.
